After co-founding the company, I served on the Board of Directors for ChaCha with Scott A. Jones (Boston Technology and Gracenote), Rod Canion (Compaq Computer), Jack Gill (Vanguard Ventures), Morton Meyerson (EDS, Perot Systems), and Tom Kelly (Nextel) for more than three years during which time the company achieved stratospheric growth.I focus primarily on strategy related to the product, marketing, and revenue generation strategies for ChaCha.

In 2006, I co-founded ChaCha with Scott A. Jones. From inception through February 2009 I served as President of the company. As President, I was involved with every facet of the business - starting with the development of our business plan and initial prototype system. ChaCha became the fastest growing and most widely used mobile text-based (SMS) Q&A service in the US. According to Nielsen, ChaCha had more than 3.5 million unique mobile users in our first year of operation and eclipsed the 100 million mobile answers mark in that period. As the business expanded, I worked to expand the organization to include the key talent needed to fill important roles such as technology development, operations, and advertising sales while contributing heavily to product design and directly leading our marketing efforts through the launch of our mobile answers service in January 2008 at the Sundance Film Festival. The difference in ChaCha came from the unique manner in which we coupled automation with human intelligence. One of the most exciting facets of building ChaCha was developing our community of "Guides" - the humans who provide answers that help "teach" ChaCha's technology to deliver automated answers.
