I was also fortunate to be able to spend that time working under Dr. Stephen Agyei-Mensah who had been the Manager of Information Technology Operations for a Verizon Communications Inc. subsidiary and also a Fortune 500 Company. For approximately 3 years I was responsible for database administration, management of the student lab aids (which involved creating user accounts for new employees and entering them into the database, which was linked to timeclock software that utilize fingerprint scans to assure integrity of worker clockin/clockout times). Working in cooperation with another student, I set up a network of 40 new desktop computers in University's Advanced Computer Lab, complete with setting up and configuring the new network. I created all of the Ethernet cables required for the upgrading this network by hand with a crimping tool.I was responsible for maintenance of the University's ROTC departments website, and also came up with the idea for the Beckerlab website, with the approval of Dr. Mensah. This was designed in order to make the communication between lab aids and lab admins more convenient and accessible. This enabled students to access weekly work schedules from any computer with an internet connection as well as providing functions to communicate with the lab administrators with the easy submission of an interactive feedback type form.During this time I also performed administration for Microsoft's Academic Alliance (MSDNAA) Program with Clarion University which is now called Microsoft Spark.
