Brad Schmidt is the CEO of the Northern California PET Imaging Center (NCPIC), a pioneering PET imaging center founded in 1992 as the first independent PET imaging facility in the USA.NCPIC was initially established as a joint venture between Sutter Health and Mercy to serve as a pilot site for pioneering the innovative technology of PET imaging which was recently commercialized at the time.Today, NCPIC operates as an independent nonprofit, recognized by industry and clinical peers for its expertise in molecular imaging. Its capabilities include amyloid, FDG, tau, PSMA, and NET imaging, driving advancements in oncology, neurology, cardiology, and the rapidly evolving field of theranostics (radiotherapy). NCPIC’s mission is to provide exceptional patient care through precise, innovative, and accessible molecular imaging and we are built to support research and clinical imaging and has performed over 50,000 PET and PET/CT exams to date. NCPIC proceeds from exams are reinvested into onsite medical technology advancements, with a commitment to boost access to new and important molecular tracers while striving to make healthcare more accessible financially by reducing care costs by up to 80% - which we hope boosts care access for all. Brad is personally dedicated to modernizing healthcare by leveraging molecular and imaging technologies while implementing cost-effective strategies to lower care costs and improve patient access across the USA.Brad began his career with Siemens Healthcare and CTI Molecular Imaging and later developed a Los Angeles-based diagnostic radiology center focused on expanding access for underserved populations in LA County. This center was acquired by RadNet in 2023.
