Brad Nowak is an energy and corporate partner representing clients on the energy transition. He has over 20 years of experience representing clients on project development, mergers and acquisitions, corporate transactions, and project financings. He is co-chair of Williams Mullen’s Energy and Data Center Practices and leads its Infrastructure Practice.Brad advises developers, sponsors, lenders and investors on renewable energy and traditional energy projects, including regulatory and permitting matters, due diligence, and on project and portfolio purchase agreements, power purchase agreements, community solar subscription agreements, engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) agreements, operation and maintenance (O&M) agreements, interconnection agreements, and development services agreements (DSA), among others. He has represented clients on the purchase and sale of more than 200 energy projects throughout the U.S.In addition to his energy transactional experience, Brad has extensive experience advising clients on Virginia energy regulatory and permitting matters, including the Virginia Clean Economy Act, Virginia's shared (community) solar program licensing and award registration, permit by rule and CPCN. He is active on energy policy in Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia and served for nearly four years on the Board of Directors for the Chesapeake Solar & Energy Storage Association (CHESSA).Brad also advises clients on data center, infrastructure and public-private partnership (P3) projects, including solid waste (waste-to-energy, landfill gas, recycling, and material recovery), transportation, water, wastewater, stormwater and social infrastructure. He has significant experience negotiating performance-based agreements for development, operation and maintenance of infrastructure and P3 facilities.
