During my summer internship, I was involved with the Transportation (Network Operations and Planning) team to assist in the design of carriageway enhancements. My responsibilities required comprehensive involvement with clients to meet design deliverables including site and service investigations, geometric design, and the production of detailed drawings and cost estimates.

During the North American summer period I took part in a cultural exchange program through Camp America. I was placed at Camp Starlight, a brother-sister campus with a traditional summer camp and Jewish ethnic background. Starlight accommodates 250 boys and 250 girls ages 7 to 15 years old with many of the campers coming from Jewish homes of high socioeconomic status. My role was broken into two parts;Camp Counselor; Live and work in a bunk with 12 campers. Each day I had to solve problems, manage a bunk, oversee child interaction, provide instruction, plan events, and evaluate camper progress.Boating Specialist; Instructing campers of all ages and various skill levels on lake activities such as, Canoeing, kayaking, paddle boarding, and sailing.Everyone that arrives at summer camp leaves with a profoundly changed outlook on life. Like many camp counselors, I expected to learn a lot from the experience. What I didn’t expect, was that I learned it all from my campers!
