Worked as part of a small team in the demolition, renovation and construction of homes in New Orleans. The work included but was not limited to: framing, drywall, painting, roofing, insulation, and window work. The team was required to work in close contact and to work around language barriers.

Taught English to students aged 9 to 18 in Gavazi Public School, Kvareli District, Kakheti Region, Republic of Georgia.

Worked as an Archive volunteer. Duties included organizing Jazz Fest photos by location and artist, transferring press clippings into archival binders, sorting press clippings by year. This job gave me a love of the Jazz and Heritage Foundation as well as the history and culture of New Orleans.

Worked as a front line historical interpreter. The duties involved dressing as a costumed historic interpreter at Colonial Michilimackinac during the visitor season. The goals of the Live Interpretation Program at Colonial Michilimackinac are to provide an enjoyable and educational experience for the guests to the park and help the guests develop a better awareness, appreciation and understanding of the cultural natural history of the park and the Straits of Mackinac area. Further duties are to protect and preserve the archaeological and natural features of Colonial Michilimackinac and to encourage the protection and wise use of the cultural and natural resources in the Straits of Mackinac area and elsewhere.

Worked as a retail associate. Was frequently only employee at the store and was in charge of stocking shelves, displays, opening and closing duties, phone and special orders.
