Principal Strategist, Public Safety Technology
CurrentMy role within the FirstNet program at AT&T has grown into contributing as a Principal Strategist for select internal and external opportunities and initiatives across the nation. In this multi-faceted role, I am excited to continue to utilize my technical skills and experiences in assisting AT&T teams and customers integrate the FirstNet network and services with the systems they use today. In addition, I now participate deeper within AT&T to provide input to the development and refinement of our products and services to help ensure customer alignment and excitement. Finally, I continue to be customer-facing within select initiatives to help educate and demonstrate the capabilities and value of the AT&T public safety portfolio.
Principal Architect
As a Principal Architect within the FirstNet program, my role - simply summarized - is to create connections between those who serve the public and technology. While simple in its description it has many facets that are exciting. I continue to be a customer-facing systems engineer as I learn my customer's pain points, and bring products and services together to relieve that pain. I work with our 4G/5G RAN and Network teams to understand the FirstNet differences and to ensure those translate to our customers. I am a technology evangelist and work to bring the term "Digital Transformation" to life within Public Safety through public speaking engagements and not shying away from the difficult integration details or competitive comparisons when working directly with customers. Finally, my work in conjunction with the FirstNet Authority in sharing both the good - and our opportunities to learn - mean that the mission of FirstNet will continue to adapt to meet the needs of those who serve.
Deputy Director, Wireless Technology
Effective January 2019, SERS merged with Snohomish County 911. As Deputy Director of Wireless Technology, I was responsible for multiple facets of the wireless systems and initiatives for SNO911 including:- Managing a team that operated & maintained county-wide communications systems including APCO P25 radio, paging, and microwave technologies as well as facilities and other supporting infrastructure- Assigned as Project Executive / Program Manager for Radio Replacement Project ($66M project budget)- Provided technical guidance and strategic decision support for Police/Fire Chiefs, Mayors & council members as well as city and county executives- Drafted and executed contracts for land & site leases, including facility and technical services- Created yearly budgets, capital spending plans, and managed procurements (RFPs) for both equipment and services
