Responsible for all areas of software application development, mainframe, mid range, web and mobile. Overseeing a staff of 50 developers and managers, augmented with onshore and offshore contractors, we maintain in excess of 125 systems that are the backbone of policy administration, back office processing, claims adjudication and sales automation for a regional, multi-line insurance company.

By effectively joining the data from our disparate systems (insurance, loans, claims, financial, human resource, and others) with external data (demographic, geographic, etc), we will enable all areas of Alfa (underwriting, actuary, marketing, claims, etc) to manage in new ways while being able to get a more complete view of our customer than ever before. Using ETL, Profiling, and Quality tools from Informatica to extract, transform, and load our data into our Teradata warehouse, we will deliver incremental solutions to the users, primarily utilizing Cognos BI tools.We are also planning to integrate 3rd party data to help us "complete the picture" of our customers and prospects.

Primarily involved in managing the implementation and upgrades to strategic systems for Alfa including PeopleSoft HR and Financials, Clarity IT Governance, and Cognos Budgeting & Planning. This involves the entire process from system requirements to system selection to vendor selection to platform selection and the entire management of the implementation of the system. As a certified PMP, I also help lead Alfa in the tactical and strategic use of Clarity to allow us to plan, manage, and track all of our IT work and therefore explain to the enterprise where IT resoruces are being consumed.

Responsibility for the entire software development staff for our Property & Casualty administration systems, Life administration systems, Sales and Service systems for field sales and service force, and all supporting back office systems for the enterprise. This covered our IBM mainframe platform developers, our AS/400 developers, and our client-server developers.

Responsible for our client-server development team as well as our internal IS Support Desk and our IS Purchasing and Asset Management teams. Migrated our client-server development team from DOS-based development tools to OS2-based object-oriented develolpment tools including the inplementation of AIONDS for developing a "rules based" system that automated work previously handled by a person to issue insurance policies with no intervention required.

Loan officer, COBOL developer, Supervisor - responsible for development and implementation of a New Automobile Policy Processing system and management and support of that system for 10 years.

Several Project Management Professionals in the Montgomery area were interested in starting a local PMI chapter and we had to handle the various aspects to qualify for an official charter from PMI. I was the Chapter VP of Finance so I handled much of he paperwork in the process as well as establishing the chapter budget. I also handled registration and payment processing for our meetings as well as providing PDU receipts to members as necessary to maintain their PMP certification.
