CurrentAfter serving on the Planning Commission and Economic Development Committee for two years, Mr. McGirr was elected to the City Council of Rancho Santa Margarita in 2012. He was thereafter elected as Mayor Pro Tem in December of 2013, reelected to the council in November of 2014, and elected Mayor in December of 2014. He was reelected to the city council in 2018 and currently serves as Mayor Pro Tem of the city of Rancho Santa Margarita.
