IBM Open Data Analytics for z/OS (IzODA) was a previous incarnation of the group of products providing virtualized data access through the Mainframe Data Services (MDS) Data Layer coupled with our z/OS Apache Spark port and z/OS Anaconda port to allow for data analytics of mainframe specific data to be run directly on the mainframe in a highly available and secure environment. • Launched and coordinated functional, system, and solution level test plans across the product portfolio designed to find bugs and alert developers when needed. • Identified and resolved numerous Severity 1 issues that would otherwise wreak havoc in customer environments before they ever made it out to customers. • Resolved scheduling issues and collaborated with key stakeholders in adjusting GA schedules in line with operational goals. • Effectively maintained an original Python testing framework utilized for assessing Apache Spark. • Launched unique multi-quarter test projects utilizing knowledge of data engineering and SQL to see how the Apache Spark would perform under load and affect client billing. • Conduct regular acceptance testing on quarterly intervals that was later automated and saved numerous business hours.

SMF Real-Time is an operating system level functionality within z/OS allowing customer applications to issue system calls into the System Management Facility (SMF) and get detailed information back about the system operating environment and client applications.
