I am currently a senior applied cognitive scientist at Pacific Science & Engineering (PSE), and the lead of our AI capabilities area. In this role I help facilitate PSE's strategic goals in AI-related business acquisition, oversee or advise AI/ML projects, and facilitate the internal adoption of AI-powered technologies. Before joining PSE I was a postdoc at UCSF Center for Genomic Medicine. I received a Ph.D. from UCSD through the joint doctoral program in cognitive science and experimental psychology. The major thrust of my dissertation work was conducted in the UCSD Center for Neural Circuits, advised by Dr. Roberto Malinow. My masters and qual projects were conducted in the Molecular Cognition Lab advised by Dr. Stephan Anagnostaras. In general my doctoral research focused on questions in the field of computational neuroscience and neurobiology related to memory formation, neural network memory representations, and the persistence of memory despite continuous molecular turnover. I was also involved in a wide variety of ancillary projects involving a mix of genomics, bioinformatics, imaging, data science, and AI/ML techniques to research healthy and disease-state neuroanatomy, and develop technologies that advance precision medicine, early disease detection, risk assessment, clinical diagnostics, and promote human health and well being.
