Brand & Product PositioningSelf Employed Mar 2022 - PresentSatellite Beach, Florida, UsI help software CEOs turn intention into direction. In a world of bottom lines, measurable outcomes, and key results, a word like intention can seem squishy. It certainly doesn’t fit nicely on a chart. But the world has changed. Today, your intention is your competitive advantage.Consider the tools we now have at our fingertips. Today, everyone can see and experience, first-hand, that the more clearly you express what you want, the more quickly you get positive results. If you can write it, you can have it.This is an inspiring time. It’s also the right time to step back, revisit what you set out to build, and then turn your intentions—for your company to be different, understood, and necessary—into direction for your teams. -

Chief Experience OfficerEdb Sep 2019 - Mar 2022Bedford, Ma, UsAcquired by Bain Capital.EDB provides enterprise-class software and services for PostgreSQL, the world's favorite open source database. I led the in-house and agency teams that rebuilt EDB's front-end for a new audience: developers. These folks expect to be spoken to clearly, to see proof, and to try before they buy. This was a big shift for the company, and bad guesses and long release cycles just wouldn't do, so we integrated user experience research into our design and development process and sped up releases from every few weeks to multiple times a day.On the brand side, I led the development of a new tagline—Power to Postgres—that positioned EDB at the center of the Postgres movement. Also led brand development and UX research for EDB's new cloud database-as-a-service offering, BigAnimal. -
