Recent consulting engagements include: — Leading the product management team in the internal design and development of a sophisticated but user-friendly routing platform for a rapidly-growing delivery business. Drove the product design and led the operational implementation of the platform. — Designing and building a user-friendly corporate dashboard for a medium-sized non-profit organization, to help the board of directors and management team better track and understand their performance, while minimizing the effort required to keep the dashboard up to date. — Leading the requirements definition and specification process for potential implementation of a third-party routing solution for a large waste management company. — Leading a data consistency and consolidation project to identify and eliminate inconsistent customer and supplier data that impacted a specialty manufacturing company’s ability to fully understand and optimize their supply chain and service to their customer base. — Deep-dive data analytics to identify and implement operational process and equipment improvement opportunities. — Advising on the strategy and design of a new pricing structure to drive growth while protecting for operational cost variations across diverse customer profiles.

In this start-up business, I and five cofounders took an idea from a white board and created a brand-new nationwide industry, an innovation- and technology-focused restaurant service and distribution business. We grew the business to nearly 1000 employees and a customer base of more than 27,000 restaurants nationwide, offering a patented automated cooking oil management system and service platform that changed the restaurant industry. As a leader of RT, my responsibilities were broad and varied:EXECUTIVE TEAM MEMBER – Cofounding a rapidly-growing company allowed me to be involved to varying degrees in all aspects of the business – Engineering, Operations, Sales, Finance, Human Resources, IT, Supply Chain, QA, etc.ENGINEERING & R&D – Fostered a culture of innovation, leading the engineering team that started from scratch to conceptualize, design, test, and then set up manufacturing of all equipment needed for this new industry.OPERATIONS & CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT – Led the development of many operational processes in our matrix organization. An example: Led the development and daily operation of a cutting-edge nationwide distribution process, using new telemetry technology and a centralized software system that allowed just four people at our corporate office to schedule more than 1200 customer deliveries each day, on customized trucks departing from 40 different RT distribution centers around the nation.CUSTOMER MANAGEMENT & SALES – Led (with cofounder) annual product and services contract negotiations with RTI’s largest customer. Also involved in relationship-building and customer management of multiple large national restaurant chains.FLEET MANAGEMENT – Led team that managed fleet of nearly 400 customized delivery and service vehicles around the nation (daily operations and life-cycle management). QUALITY ASSURANCE & FOOD SAFETY – Developed/implemented processes ensuring all delivered products met quality and food safety standards.

Designed and installed control system for one of the nation’s first Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) fueling stations, allowing the municipal bus fleet of El Paso, TX, to run completely on alternative fuel vehicles.

Space Shuttle flight controller and mission operations engineer in Mission Control Center for NASA’s Space Shuttle Program. Responsible for operational use and management of all Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) systems during Shuttle missions. Extensive experience in project management, team leadership, and working with Shuttle astronaut crews and payload customers to develop and execute mission plans. Completed certification for the highest-ranking GNC flight controller position and worked more than 30 Space Shuttle missions at various positions in the Mission Control Center.
