Challenging role as the only IT Support Contact for both the Perth, Brisbane and KL Offices of Genesis Oil and Gas Consultants, duties consisted of all facets of IT support. In a Windows XP-7/Office 2007-2010/Lotus Notes environment in a varying role which supports everything from minor desktop issues and Microsoft application support through to backup and server maintenance. Other Key tasks performed include managing IT and office assets database, assisting with IT budget requirements, deploying software as required using Altiris Deployment Server according to license agreements, liaising with vendors for procurement of new hardware/software managing and creating new user accounts with AD and providing the varying user base (50 – 80 users depending on project requirements) with support on all levels according to company SLA’s.

Looking after multiple clients for this managed support services company (including Genesis Oil and Gas on an ad-hoc basis) as an IT Support Engineer, duties would consist of all stages of small business IT needs. Everything from initial design consultation and pre sales technical advice through to the installation of new network and server infrastructure and desktop support to meet their individual business’ needs. Working both autonomously and in a team environment supporting Windows XP/ Office 2007/ Exchange/ Server 2003/8 at server and desktop support levels ensuring agreed SLA’s were met often in high pressure situations. Another requirement of this position was to ensure all server maintenance is kept up to date and that each client site’s network and systems documentation was kept up to date.

Supporting approximately 120 employees and as many PC’s spread across the 3 offices in Perth and Bunbury. Working in a Windows XP / Office 2003 / Microsoft Exchange environment, duties consisted of setting up new accounts in Active Directory and Exchange, relocating computers and personnel within the office into project groups as directed by discipline leaders, logging and escalating service calls using Footprints service desk software to resolve day to day problems such as printing issues, network drive access, software and hardware installations and problems associated with the Cisco VOIP system as well as supporting desktop, server and network hardware as required. Liaising with vendors to arrange repairs or replacement parts for all networked equipment including printers and desktop/laptop computers according to SLA’s. In conjunction with the State ICT Manager, building and troubleshooting SOE’s for new computer models being introduced to the network and improving existing SOE’s. Network and Systems administration including backup, security and user account management, office systems and applications support.

Working in the administration office, duties included entering new stock codes into the P.O.S sale system for the 33 Liquor Barons stores to use, updating individual membership details. Creating SQL queries for various business needs. Running reports and summarising sales and advertising data used for targeted marketing. Providing I.T support for the small office environment (5 Users).

Working in an ITIL Environment on the I.T Helpdesk assisting approximately 1,700 Users and 1,200 Computers.Activities consist of creating New User Accounts in Active Directory, SAP, Cisco Unity & Cisco Call Manager; Logging & Escalating Service Calls and supporting a Windows XP and Microsoft Office SOE on both laptops and desktops over the phone and one on one with employees. Other duties include Configuring and Supporting laptops & hand held devices for wireless connectivity both onsite & for remote use via Dial-Up / VPN connections; Deploying software in accordance to current licence agreements, SOE Imaging using Altiris Deployment Server as well as manual software installation and documentation.Lesser activities range from minor Exchange administration to Data back-up and restores using Legato Networker and general hardware, printer and network support.
