Oversee, design, and coordinate enhancements for the Walgreens Healthcare Clinic web-based EMR system. Responsibilities included engaging with project managers, business analysts, product owner, and business SMEs to construct a clear vision for the solution to use in guiding a team of developers through the project from initial idea to deployment. Would provide technical design documents and guidance as well as occasional development on more technical or involved portions of a solution to initiate momentum for a project.

Provided guidance and technical suggestion to improve performance of overall software infrastructure of the organization. Evaluated everything from the physical architecture, database designs and implementation, application design and architecture, technology choices, and software development environment - including source control management and SDLC. The end result being to provide suggestion and engage where possible to repair any critically unstable areas and improve overall performance to the system.Though a short contract, it was rewarding to be able to deeply engage with the business and work intimately with every facet of their system to provide immediate results in performance through quick solutions.

Jan 2013 - Feb 2014Technical lead for the Meaningful Use 2014 certification for Xerox's ACS healthcare services division. From initial discussion through successful certification, was deeply engaged in evaluating, deciphering, learning the requirements for certification, and designing a technical solution to facilitate certification inside of their flagship application. Responsibilities included gathering business requirements, researching and translating governmental restrictions, devising strategic technical vision and tailoring specific technology choices restricted on the project by the business into solution. Was the lead data architect to sculpt the vision and design for our data storage solution. Was the lead liaison engaging and working with an outside vendor to implement a new technology solution for storage using Intersystems Cache'. Jul 2012 - Jan 2013Team member on a project to redesign and build the next generation of the division's flagship SaaS web-based application. Responsibilities included taking tasks and working closely with the business to define a solution for that particular piece of the application, creating a design, development work using Silverlight, WCF, SQL.

Responsible for engaging with the business to extract requirements, planning overall architecture and vision for solutions, delivering designs, and leading a development team through the SDLC. Lead architect for two large web-based solutions over the time in this position. The latter project being an electronic document archival solution that today houses all of the bank's scanned documents and allows searching and viewing of those documents through a custom web search utility. Still in production as of 2015, it houses over 1 billion scanned documents, and allows fast searching and access using a tag based categorization system. This product was a proposed solution to replace an existing heavy client application being maintained through a service contract with an outside vendor. From proposal to production, we met an incredibly tight timeline of less than 8 months in order to dramatically reduce costs to the organization by replacing the previous application, saving millions over the lifetime of the new application.

Application development using VB.Net and Sql Server. Worked on a team of about 10 software developers/architects to provide enhancements and supporting applications to the company's primary business tool (PopWorks) used throughout their call centers worldwide.

We used .Net technologies (framework 1.1, 2.0) to build large scalable web applications that were used nationally throughout the bank. Back-end database support was provided by SQL Server 2000 and 2005. The development environment was Visual Studio 2000, 2003, 2005. Over the course of my position, I helped develop over 25 applications that made their way to production. On most of those applications, I was either the lead developer or the lead architect for the application.

I worked as the primary administrator for the ISP department's billing and authentication database. While there, I also designed and built several web applications to improve productivity, efficiency, and profitability of this department. Top among these applications was an online web application that tied directly into our billing system and could enroll new customers automatically over the web without having to interact with a CSR on the phone. Other job functions included administration of web servers, network servers, modem racks, routers, and databases.
