As Director of Community Energy at PowerMarket, I work with municipalities and community partners to deploy renewable energy solutions in both government operations and in the community at large. With utility prices rising, municipalities are looking for practical ways to cut costs with smart solutions that make our communities more energy independent and sustainable. PowerMarket has a strong track record of helping local governments and their constituents pay less for electricity with local clean energy. I'm focused on helping communities to benefit from these opportunities with programs like community solar, community campaigns, 100% renewable electricity, and community choice aggregation. Prior to PowerMarket, I served as Program Manager, Communities & Local Government at NYSERDA, where I developed and managed the Clean Energy Communities program where more than 730 local governments - representing 18.5 million New Yorkers - completed thousands of high-impact clean energy actions. I oversaw a statewide network of regional Clean Energy Communities Coordinators that provided invaluable assistance to municipalities, local elected officials, and trusted partners as they completed actions and earned grants and recognition. Prior to joining NYSERDA, I served as Director of Sustainability for the City of Yonkers - New York's third largest city - where I worked with the departments of city government and community stakeholders to save more than $2 million in annual energy costs. I led a number of high-profile initiatives including an award-winning LED streetlight replacement project, the establishment of mandatory green building standards, and the replacement of over 500 windows in historic Yonkers City Hall. Prior to Yonkers, I served as the Director of Environmental Coordination for Nassau County - New York's second largest county outside of NYC - where I worked for five years developing and executing a broad range of environmental and health initiatives. I led a first-of-its-kind community-scale clean energy campaign called Green Levittown and was instrumental in putting to use $150 million in voter-approved bonds to protect drinking water, preserve open space and farmland, protect bays and harbors and improve parks. I began my career designing and building houses that couple energy efficiency and renewable energy with green infrastructure and eco-friendly materials. I have a master's degree in Urban Policy Analysis and Management from the New School University and a bachelor's degree in Sustainable Development from Prescott College in Arizona.
