Currently working at Ortech Systems in London, Ontario. Ortech is widely considered the industry leader in orthopaedic registries. The company has built registries in a diverse range of hospitals and private clinics across North America. Ortech's web-based product was designed in collaboration with several leading orthopaedic surgeons across North America. Their product allows health care providers to efficiently capture intra-operative and implant data, as well as patient reported outcomes in order to measure and analyze patient progress. Many hospitals and private clinics use this data to measure quality of care, to enhance marketing capabilities and to improve negotiations with insurance companies.I graduated from the University of Western Ontario’s Software Engineering program with distinction in London, Ontario. While in school I had the opportunity to develop two projects and gain valuable experience with real world applications. The first project was an operations management system to allow franchisees of a company to generate work orders, create invoices, manage clients and inventory, and connect with other franchisees through a message board. It also allowed the franchisor to generate royalty free reports (and other types) to quickly and accurately determine the fees due for each franchisee. The system also had a mobile application that was used to help conduct inspections of fire safety equipment. The second project was designed for a team of researchers with the London Health Sciences Centre in London, Ontario to help them create and manage research studies that centered on mental health in youth and young adults. This application was a web-based program that allowed the researchers to create and edit questionnaires, manage participants, generate usage reports, and link existing tools and other aids for use by the participants.
