The ability to communicate clearly, coachability, and a desire to learn are essential skills for graphic designers. These are attributes that I strive toward. It’s also important to truly enjoy your career, and I’ve got that one covered. I currently work for Flood Communications, a fast-growing company whose motto is to serve the underserved. I create social media content for both Flood and their clients, banner ads, vectorize logos, advise social media best practices, and various other tasks. I like the variety of tasks I work on and my coworkers.I’ve worked a few graphic design jobs before my current position. I had internships at the Beatrice Country Club and Hastings Family YMCA. These were both fun and challenging, they helped me grow my confidence and gain practical experience. After graduating from Hastings College, I worked at True North Technologies. It was a fast-paced start-up that offered a variety of digital services. I gained valuable experience, especially with social media and branding. In 2021 my position was dissolved. I am very appreciative of the risk they took on a young designer and the opportunity they offered me to grow. I enjoy challenging myself by expanding my skill set. My current challenge is digital illustration. I got a studio art degree while in college and have found what I learned to be extremely valuable. You can check out a few of my pieces on my website.
