After realizing that I wasn't going to be a pro athlete (if only I was faster, taller, stronger) I decided to pursue my other interests, art and people. Those two things brought me to the printing industry. Many years, and roles, later I have learned that what I love most is working with people and systems to make work more efficient. I have been given many opportunities to be a leader at many different levels and have enjoyed every minute of it. I like building teams and being a mentor.After leading many challenging projects I have also found that I still like learning. I like continuous improvement and I think it applies to everything and, more importantly, everyone. Constantly developing teams and processes that improve the day-to-day work life of those around me is really gratifying and the problem solving never stops.I also get to put those passions to use as a volunteer firefighter. The opportunity to serve my community is extremely rewarding and allows me to help people on their worst day. I have constantly been surrounded by extraordinary people throughout my career and the fire service is certainly no exception.Today, I am the Manager of Commercialization at Liberty Packaging, leading our structural designers, graphics team, digital print area, and our commercialization teams. Developing strategies, processes, and relationships with coworkers and clients is extremely gratifying and watching our organization move in new directions is exciting.Like many industries, the packaging industry is ever changing. It is exciting to see a new set of challenges offered, and met, every day. Our customers rely on us to ensure their products are delivered to market and doorsteps in pristine condition. We are up for the challenge.
