Lives Lived Well is a not-for-profit organisation that helps people impacted by drugs or alcohol and mental health concerns. We deliver a wide range of programs and services across Queensland and New South Wales to help people get their lives back on track.We believe that with the right support, people can change their lives. We work with people to create insight into the causes and impact of their use of alcohol and drugs and to develop strategies to reduce harm, support recovery and inspire positive and lasting change. We also work with families and other community services to ensure ongoing support is put in place. Thousands of people reach out to us each year.Our programs are designed to meet the community's diverse needs, including working with young people, children and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities. We are the lead agency for Headspace, mental health services for young people and run the Lives Lived Well Specialist Centre on the Gold Coast. We also run Lighthouse, a service for young people with severe and/or complex mental health. Another important aspect of our work is in supporting people to re-enter the community upon release from custodial centres successfully.My role is to:- Investigate workplace incidents- Consult and provide WHS advice to teams and services- Conduct safety risks assessments and management- Hazard identification- Review and update WHS training materials- Develop and review safe systems of work- Oversee WHS risk register and review the clinical register for WHS risks- Plant and machinery compliance- Contractor safety management- Staff injury management, rehabilitation, and workplace support- Return to work coordinator- Fire safety advisor- Fire safety management- Fire and emergency audits

Led teams in the maintenance of public open spaces, parks, gardens, sports fields, tree maintenance, chemical handling/application, landscaping, growing trees, shrubs, flowers and turf in a range of environments, fertiliser testing & application, identifying and mitigating potential pest and disease risks, environmental assessments and fire protection zone management.Overseeing small and large-scale landscaping and assets projects, ensuring all tasks are carried out professionally, effectively, efficiently, safely, on time, and within budget. As a workplace peer support officer and mental health first aid officer, I assisted and supported staff and colleagues in employee well-being, mental health, domestic violence and any issues they may contact me about, also, where appropriate, I provided help, support, guidance and assistance.As a Chief Emergency warden I developed evacuation plans, coordinated building evacuations checked the availability of emergency equipment instructed workers on how to respond to an emergency; to lead the fire drills and real evacuation procedures.As health and Safety representative, I ensured my current work unit met the required standards and legislation of the Workplace Health and Safety Act/regulation, codes of practice, standards, processes and organisational policies, protocols and procedures, also minimising risk in the workplace and ensuring a safe environment for all staff and community members. I was responsible for investigating safety risks and hazards, identifying and implementing processes and control measures to eliminate the risk, implementing solutions and practices to control it and monitoring the situation to prevent it from re-occurring.
