Direct and manage all PR, media relations, external communications, community outreach, and partnerships for the Austin Film Society: including the AFS Cinema, Austin's only repertory arthouse cinema featuring the best in classic, global, and independent film; Austin Studios, a 20-acre production facility; and Austin Public, AFS's community media center; and AFS's filmmaker support programs (the annual AFS Grant). Founded in 1985 by filmmaker Richard Linklater, the Film Society's mission is to empower our community to make, watch, and love film and creative media. Raised the profile of the Press by garnering consistent placement in top-tier media (New York Times, New York Review of Books, Publishers Weekly, etc.) and developing creative cross-promotional partnerships.
