I started working underground at Cook Colliery in 1990 and since then have come to a conclusion that there are two sorts of coal miners, those that worked at Cook, and those that wished they did! At Cook, I had exposure to 1st Workings and all facets of 2nd workings except taking bottoms in the lower thicker seam (Longwall, Pillar Extraction, Partial Extraction, Place Changer). From there I went to Gordonstone and left during the industrial upheaval to return to Cook as a Deputy. After a while, I then left to begin with Joncris. During my time with Joncris, my knowledge on spon com, ventilation, gas management, risk management, legislation has far exceeded that I would have gained whilst still carrying a lamp.We've built good relationships with our clients and some of the SSHRs, ISHRs and Mines Department persons during our time as a RTO providing training in predominately underground supervisory positions including OCEs, ERZ Controllers, Undermanagers (NSW), Underground Mine Managers, Coal Ventilation Officers and Site Senior Executives. We aim to keep and improve this relationship.We provide independent a Mine Atmosphere Interpretation and Monitoring Support Service that is designed to support, back up and verify the results of your onsite monitoring program. Can you retrieve gas makes, values and interpretation tools from your current longwall panel data and compare with your previous panel? Two panels ago? Three? More? We have done this for many clients quickly and efficiently. Can you determine if your trigger levels need to go up or down? How long will this take you to find, collate and analyse this information?Importantly, we have the time to look into the data and not just at the data. We know your role.
