Whistler Sport Legacies is a non-profit organization responsible for Whistlers three 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Games venues. The venues Whistler Olympic Park, Whistler Sliding Centre, and Whistler Athletes’ Centre are utilized as fields of play for sport organizations, and open for public and private function use. A unique public program allows the average person to experience an Olympic sport and delivers a sport experience to the public, which is one of a kind. Contract position with iluka- event sponsorship organization assisting tier 1 sponsors during the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

WORKFORCE ACCOMMODATION MANAGER, VANOC FOR THE 2010 GAMES - 2009-2010I was responsible for the management of the Whistler Workforce Accommodation program for the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Whistler. Under the direction and guidance from the Accommodation Director and Senior Manager, the scope specific was managing 4500 beds for the Olympic games and nearly 3500 beds for the Paralympics. I had one team in place with a total of 6 immediate staff, and an additional 5-person reservations team in place at our Accommodation Service Centre working 12-16 hours shifts around the clock. We utilized all types of accommodation from traditional hotels, residential homes, to luxury condos and even temporary portable accommodation, which housed 256 workforce. It was a challenge that we met and provided a high standard of service to our fellow workers in at times what were challenging circumstances.

Originally employed as the Assistant Hotel Manager of this 41-room boutique hotel, the role quickly developed into a senior management role as the Sales and Marketing Director. The Adara was announced as one of Conde` Naste top 100 Hotels during my management; the sought after boutique property required me to work beyond the set job title and also perform as the hotels public relations officer. I Attended tourism meetings and symposiums as the hotel delegate, engaging with our cliental by hosting dinners, industry events and taking part on ski excursions with the hotel patrons were additional services. Our uniqueness ensured that the Adara was the choice hotel for discerning guests looking for the personal stay in Whistler.

In charge of all front and back of house operations and the direct liaison with the housekeeping, maintenance and strata company for the 102-properties that WAC managed. I was responsible for staff recruitment, training and management. Provided support for reservations, sales and marketing teams for cross training education.

Worked with the property management team to recruit local workforce to rent a large inventory of high end condos, townhomes and family homes in the resort of Whistler, BC. Owner relations became a large part of this role with over 250 home owners in our rental pool for extended rental terms. I worked with each home owner to ensure personal attention to detail for their homes was first at mind. Monthly account execution, financial records for each property, lease execution and delivery, management of all in-house clients for the duration of stay.

Worked with clients on a daily basis providing them with sound knowledge of ski and snowboard products, and equipment rentals. Worked with management team and Lead Hands to ensure the day to day operations of the brand new store were fluid and efficient.
