a. Term: Whole Academic Yearb. The Consul is the President of the chapter.c. He presides over chapter meetings as well as other chapter activities.d. He is responsible for the security of the charter, ritual, ritualistic materials,chapter house and the individual members of the chapter.e. He is the face of the Fraternity, which means he is responsible in maintaininggreat relations with all other outside organizations. (i.e. other Fraternities,Sororities, Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life and any other organizationsthat deal with the chapter)f. Shall maintain open and regular communications with the Chapter Advisor,Grand Praetor, and Sigma Chi Headquarters.g. Responsible in running the Peterson/Chapter of the Year Committees.h. When forced to make a decision he must make any decision based on what hebelieves is best for the chapter at large.i. He is required to attend all IFC meetings.j. He is to attend all mandatory meetings by the Office of Fraternity and SororityLife.k. In every action the Fraternity makes whether it is good or bad, the Consul isresponsible for.

The first and primary role Horizons interns play is as a liaison between Horizons participants and headquarters staff. Interns are responsible for establishing contact with each participant in their session to ensure participants are adequately prepared for the program.The interns’ secondary responsibilities include serving as a critical member of Team Aspen, the on-site logistical team, during the session. Interns will provide logistical support and contribute to critical planning and development decisions that will ensure the proper, efficient and successful execution of the session. Interns may also have the opportunity to serve as undergraduate representatives to the Horizons Operating Board for an entire year. Tasked with overseeing the development and maintenance of Horizons, the Horizons Operating Board meets twice a year around the country to conduct its business.

Responsibilities•Delivers excellent service to all members, guests, and program participants•Responds to member and guest needs, promotes memberships and programs, and maintains cleanliness and organization of the welcome area•Provides excellent service to members, guests, and program participants in the Y and on the phone, contributing to member retention•Greets members (by name) and visitors in a positive and professional manner as a representative of the YMCA•Ensures the security of the facility by scanning all members and enforcing policy regarding visitors•Conducts interviews and/or tours responsive to the needs of prospective members; sells memberships•Conducts program registration for members and guests•Accurately conducts financial transactions for membership and program fees; accountable for all cash collected during shift•Builds relationships with members; helps members connect with one another and the YMCA•Handles and resolves membership concerns and informs supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues•Applies all YMCA policies dealing with member services•Other duties as assigned

• Assist the President when deemed appropriate;• Plan, organize, and supervise the membership recruitment program of the InterfraternityCouncil on behalf of all East Tennessee State University Fraternities;• Organize and distribute a recruitment publication for fall and spring rush sessions each year;• Develop and adapt rush guidelines for chapters to follow;• Must be in or near campus over the summer.
