• Guided and led a large team of over 200 people consisting of military, civil servants and locally contracted civilians. Directed and prioritised Business as Usual activities ensuring successful delivery of all support.
• Galvanised and led the team responsible for delivering all Soft and Hard Facilities Management for a large and complex site catering for over 2000 people.
• Oversaw three charities, worth over £500K, improving their approach and optimising their delivery in order to deliver better support to their beneficiaries.
• Negotiated and improved trade union relationships with a focus on the delivery of smart compromises in order to ensure continued delivery of outputs whilst implementing new policies.
• Designed and delivered a medium term vision and strategy for the Commando Training Centre Royal Marines focused on modernising the approach and setting the conditions to improve its ability to innovate and adapt.

• Responsible for developing and delivering the amphibious capability for the Royal Navy and the Royal Marines by leading the high performing team which manages and balances a portfolio of five major change programmes.
• Led the strategic analysis for the Royal Marines and designed the strategy development processes the Royal Marines use to adapt to strategic issues.
• Assisted the Naval Staff in MOD to streamline and improve their strategic analysis capability.

• Designed and evolved the strategic messaging and vision for the Royal Marines.

• Drove the policy and day-to-day management of the £13.5m per year Royal Marine Reserves; set the overall strategic direction with a focus on redefining it in response to the 2010 SDSR (Strategic Defence and Security.
• Reduced fixed costs by £3m per year (22%) having designed and delivered a strategic change programme for the Royal Marine Reserves.

• Built, led and managed a team of over 100 Royal Marines to develop a cohesive and highly effective organisation that was able to adapt and overcome the challenges of conflict in Afghanistan.
• Led a 200 strong high performing multinational team for 6 months in the highly dangerous and challenging operational environment of Sangin, Helmand Province, Afghanistan.

• Attended and completed the Advanced Command and Staff Course (MBA level) which addresses a wide spectrum of military, political and international issues.
• Achieved a top 10% finish on the course of over 230 multinational students.

• Programme and Project Manager for Royal Marine organisational structure and the delivery of urgent operational equipment to Afghanistan (2005 – 07); primary interface between the Navy, Army, RAF and Ministry of Defence.
• Initiated, oversaw and delivered a £200K research project to investigate how to restructure the Royal Marine Commando units so that they would be more combat effective.
