I separated mosquito catches into different species and into pools. I cared for chickens and monitored chicken health by utilizing either a brachial bleed or comb stick method. Mosquito pools and chicken blood were sent to the Health Department to be tested for West Nile Virus and Eastern Equine Encephalitis.

Installed and maintained AN/SQQ-89 (V1/3) Anti-submarine Sonar suite, AN/SLQ-25A Nixie Towed Anti-Torpedo system, and MK-53 DLS/Nulka Anti-Missile Decoy Countermeasure onboard various classes of combatant ships. Installations included running various types of cables (power cables, coaxial cables, fiber optic), and the installation of the connectors on these cables. Operated and maintained AN/SQQ-89 (V1/3) anti-submarine sonar system to detect underwater threats. Monitored underwater tactical situation by receiving, combining, and processing active and passive sensor data from the hull-mounted array, towed array, and sonobuoys. Petty Officer in charge of operation and maintenance of Sonar Dome Pressurization System. Petty Officer in charge of operation and maintenance of AN/SLQ-25A NIXIE towed torpedo countermeasure deployment and recovery system. Petty Officer responsible for Combat Systems Assessment/Combat Systems Readiness Review Damage Control. Team member of torpedo handling team for shipboard torpedo launchers and helicopter mounting gear. Loaded torpedo tubes and transported torpedoes as required. Ensured torpedoes were properly banded with helicopter banding straps. Conducted torpedo loading activities onto helicopters, prepared them for flight, and readied the torpedoes for safe release on designated targets. Conducted maritime interdiction operations off the coast of Haiti and in the Red Sea to delay, disrupt, or destroy enemy supplies. As Naval Surface Search and Rescue Swimmer, stood watch during flight quarters for ships helicopter, plane guard for USS George Washington (CVN-73), and responsible for the safety of ship’s crew during underway replenishment, boarding operations, personnel and package transfers with other ships and submarines, and other day to day activities.
