This software provides a streamlined system for storing chargeback and rebate contracts for pharmaceutical manufacturers and for validating and adjudicating incoming claims. Although I specialize in leading just one of our many software solutions, I am deeply involved cross-silos with other departments, and spend much of my time ensuring there are no gaps between modules.I also work closely with our product development team to ensure we are continuing to make progress towards SaaS readiness and delivering on our promise of outstanding MS operations. After going through a 10 week training program known as Market Access University, I joined the Software Development and Implementation team as a Jr. IT Project Manager, where I was triaging and coordinating collaboration between stakeholders, budgeting both financial and time expenditures, and providing support to developers.After successfully leading an implementation of the ICyte platform for a customer, I was given the chance to really deep dive into our Chargebacks module. During this time I worked as an implementation / solutions specialist for our company's largest ever Chargebacks customer, a currently ongoing project.In my day-to-day I work with our clients to transition from one system to another, spending lots of time collecting, transforming, cleaning, and loading data. I have learned both business and system logic, and work with developers to ensure these two work together without issue. Much of my time is spent learning our clients' business rules, implementing these rules into our ICyte platform, working with developers to overcome bugs and deliver functionality, developing standard operating procedures, test documents, and user guides.

Work From Home

During my second summer at Merck I grew exponentially as a developer and team member. There were two main projects that I took up over my 12 weeks as an intern. They are as follows.I implemented an RPA/OCR pipeline that ingests PDF documents and converts them to spreadsheets using AWS Lambda, Textract, and S3. This was part of a larger UiPath based RPA project. I learned from developers how RPA works, and how UiPath interacts with systems.I piloted a machine learning project that can predict for bot maintenance costs early in the SDLC to allow for easier and more precise cost-benefit analysis.Outside of those projects I was able to help set up a standardized procedure for developing on the cloud and deploying code.Finally, I learned how to communicate problems and solutions to management, how to transfer and manage knowledge, and how to reduce time spent on duplicate work.

Online / Work From Home

During my summer internship at Merck, I worked with AWS machine learning and AI resources such as SageMaker and DeepComposer. There I did exploratory testing and helped to create a plan of action and use cases for the programs. By the end of the year I had a demonstration model that took in a patient's reported symptoms and predicted the diagnosis of their disease with 95% accuracy across 20 tests.During my tenure I also gained valuable experience with the AWS platform and ecosystem as a whole, the Agile workflow and mentality, and even ran daily scrums for a two week sprint for a dozen person team. Merck taught me not only how to be a better developer, but also how to be a valuable member of a team and corporation. I honed my public speaking skills in my final demonstration, and gained confidence through conversations with VP's and Project Directors. Although I would love to share my final presentation, I cannot upload proprietary Merck data.

I had the responsibility to watch over a hundred children ages four to fifteen while they enjoyed the camp's multiple pools, and ensured that no one was in the presence of danger, or if they were, to remove them from that situation in accordance to the Red Cross's Lifeguard training program.I also gave swim lessons to small groups of ten or so kids of varying age ranges, and had to proctor a swimming exam at the end of the year to assess the students' skill levels and determine if they would be ready to move up a level of difficulty for the next summer.
