Geomancer promotes the theory, design, and implementation of permaculture land management and infrastructure with a focus on urban ecology, agroforestry, and watershed restoration.In addition to providing a crowdfunding platform for the support of permaculture-based initiatives, Geomancer works with visionary clients to develop engaging and functional social ecologies and adaptive urban design.

Grew a new division of LFUCG Parks & Recreation by developing and leading public outdoor adventure programs for children and adults including overnight camping, archery, scuba diving, rock climbing, canoeing, paintball, orienteering, and wilderness survival. Operated as a member of staff at a major city park receiving over 40,000 visitors per year. Performed maintenance duties, landscape management, and assisted with public environmental education programs. Acted as the Safety Officer for summer adventure camps serving youth ages 13-16.

Worked with an interdisciplinary team of environmental professionals to develop the first Master Naturalist training in Kentucky, launched in the fall of 2018 as parallel pilot programs in Lexington and Louisville.

Responded to emergency situations involving wildfire events throughout Eastern Kentucky. Engaged in wildfire suppression activities including strategic planning, team communication, and physically arduous labor in a variety of weather conditions.

Performed tasks related to the management of a 27 acre botanical garden housing over 3,000 plant species and the largest public collection of orchids in the Americas In an exclusively Spanish-language working environment. Responsibilities included maintenance of botanical collections in greenhouse settings, applications of arboriculture involving the use of chainsaws and heavy equipment, landscape design and restoration, and general horticultural duties involving strenuous physical labor in outdoor settings.Worked independently to assess areas of the facility negatively impacted by heavy rainfall and developed strategies to mitigate stormwater issues on site utilizing existing resources and green infrastructure. Used knowledge of hydrology and permaculture principles to design and install effective rain gardens, bioswales, and infiltration basin systems in high risk areas.

As part of an interdisciplinary design team, utilized Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to generate area basemaps incorporating aerial photography, topography, and utilities data towards a redesign of the Cooper Tunnel, a major pedestrian conduit on the University of Kentucky campus.Coordinated a public event in which over 100 members of the campus community gathered at the project site to give direct input on their preferences for various design elements proposed for the interior of the tunnel and surrounding landscape.

Planned and led Outdoor Pursuits excursions for members of the UK community in a variety of locations both in and out of state. Duties included transportation, meal planning and preparation, and developing accident response and evacuation protocols. Administered preventative and emergency medical care in backcountry settings and ensured that activities remained safe and accessible to participants with varying levels of skill and experience.

Responded to calls from area emergency rooms to provide support to recent survivors of sexual assault as well as friends or family members who may also be present in the hospital setting. Worked alongside medical professionals and law enforcement as part of the Sexual Assault Response Team (SART).Staffed 24-hour Crisis Hotline and provided support and information to callers, community referrals for healthcare, law enforcement or legal aid, and information on BRCC services.

As a member of NASA's Eclipse Ballooning Project, worked with a nationwide team of engineers to build and program balloon payloads and ground systems capable of streaming live images and video from the upper atmosphere in preparation for the August 21, 2017 full solar eclipse.Designed payload instrumented to measure and record temperature, pressure, humidity, radiation, and carbon dioxide levels from the stratosphere. Launched and retrieved balloon with payload via GPS. Interpreted, analyzed, and reported data findings. Presented at the Fall 2016 Southeast Regional Meeting of the National Council of Space Grant Directors, the 2017 Academic High Altitude Conference, and numerous educational events on ballooning technology and atmospheric science for K-12 audiences and the general public.

Prepared materials and equipment for use by laboratories in the Chemistry, Environmental Science, Biology, and Biotechnology programs at Bluegrass Community and Technical College. Duties included collecting environmental samples, preparing solutions and reagents, bacteria transfer, media preparation, and sterilizing laboratory equipment and waste. Performed clerical duties including copying, word processing, and data management. Maintained inventory supply lists and conducted routine inspections of safety equipment. Reorganized laboratories to bring them in line with the Globally Harmonized System for Hazard Communication.Trained in laboratory safety, aseptic technique, glassware, spectrophotometry, and autoclave.

Serving as an assistant to the owner of the company, managed diverse construction sites in residential and commercial areas while directing and collaborating with subcontractors and hired labor. Performed troubleshooting and budgeting duties and interacted with clients on a face to face basis. Utilized knowledge of construction processes and techniques in a wide variety of applications.

Performed various tasks in home construction/remodeling including face to face contact with clients, mathematical layout and cutting of materials, and numerous other physically exerting duties. Developed hands-on experience and competency with building trades such as framing, concrete, roofing, tile, plumbing, and electrical.

Utilized classroom lecture and hands-on skills training to guide students through the course content and technical requirements for state and national EMT certification.

Provided 24/7 emergency and ongoing palliative medical care for two dozen adult staff and up to 400 campers aged 11-18 at the BSA’s Camp Roy C. Manchester during summer operations. Used knowledge of evidence-based herbal and wilderness medicine to expand scope of practice in the camp setting while interfacing with local EMS to achieve the highest possible overall level of patient care. Served as an assistant instructor for the BSA's Archery Merit Badge and as lead instructor for its First Aid Merit Badge.

Opened and closed large retail locations, supervised and directed up to a dozen other employees to meet daily productivity goals, designed and implemented visual merchandizing and product displays, assisted with loss prevention, and prepared deposits for a business doing over $14,000 in daily sales.
