About Braly Wiser
The natural world needs help, and I plan to help it. The changing weather patterns, loss of biodiversity, and arctic changes are impacting the world as we know it, and I need your help so I have the resources I need to find a solution. My last job was working at Four Winds Farm and one of their focuses is restoring prairies, forests, and ecosystems on their property. We released over 100 native quail on their 86-acre farm. Cutting out hundreds of invasive plants from the prairies and planting over 20 chestnut trees are among some of the tasks I did to care for their permaculture farm. I also know our farming practices are another cause of this crisis, I have grown up on a farm and worked with Agri-Pest to consult with 10 farmers on pest management. I saw how organic farming practices often results in greater pest populations, how weather affects crop production, and how perimeter rows become accidental trap crops. Most of our clients were potato farmers and the biggest concern was the Colorado Potato Beetle. I was able to see in real time how each generation grew more tolerant to pesticides so multiple different types were used in a growing season. As our population grows our need for food and housing will increase and ecosystems will be destroyed. I believe it is humanity’s duty to protect and restore nature for future generations to enjoy. I am open to full time jobs and paid internships.
