My passion is to lead a group of scientists, using my knowledge and experience in management and environmental sciences. I worked for many years as scientist and manager in the applied research organisations Alterra of Wageningen University and Research centre (Netherlands) and AgRsearch (New Zealand). Strategic planning, human resource management, acquisition, financial management and improving project management were important elements in these positions.I like to realize concrete results, after a common process of analyzing, vision making, strategic planning and setting goals with the whole group. My own field of research was transport processes in soil related to agriculture and environment. I have a background in (Soil) Physics and my PhD-thesis describes water flow and nutrient transport at the field-scale in an arable farming system. Later, my focus shifted to the effects of water management on grassland and the upscaling of results from the field-scale to the dairy farm to the local scale, including economic effects.Specialties: Science leaderschip and managementChange managementProject leadershipEnvironmental scienceAgricultural scienceSoil and water science
