Embedded in the NKI BioImaging Facility and the Cell Biophysics lab (P.I. Kees jalink), I develop and support advanced fluorescence microscopy techniques and bioimage analysis tools, for institute-wide use.Microscopy techniques include TIRF, Confocal microscopy, Single-Molecule Localization Microscopy and High-content imaging/screening, in combination with FRET, FLIM, FRAP and FCS.I help researchers of our institute setting up microscopy and analysis workflows, and write various scripts to analyze and quantify image data in an automated, reliable and objective manner.In addition, I regularly advise and collaborate with Leica Microsystems and Lambert Instruments on technology development.

Molecular and Cellular Biophysics. Developing a multifocal two-photon microscopy setup for imaging and 3D tracking of gold nanorods in living cells via plasmon-enhanced two-photon luminescence.

Performing technology assessments, technical, economical and ecological evaluations of energy chains, case studies and feasibility studies of hydrogen as fuel for transportation.In particular: advancement of a hydrogen refueling infrastructure in the Netherlands. This research was carried out within a consortium of companies and research institutes.

Molecular biophysics. The focus of my research was studying protein-DNA interaction using single-molecule techniques (optical tweezers, AFM and fluorescence microscopy), in combination with technique development (multi-trap optical tweezers setup, laminar flow chamber for single-molecule experiments).
