Bram Ellens was born in 1978 and is a Jekyll and Hyde pur sang. After a turbulent international career as an internet entrepreneur for 10 years, in 2015 he decided to on a career shift and started working as an artist. By means of self-study and a group of mentors, Bram developed himself into an autonomous artist. He is known as an entrepreneurial artist and mainly makes theatrical sculptures and installations. Bram enjoys the big gesture, but tries to evoke a stillness in it. His works are inclusive, but not superficial. The arousal of curiosity is a common thread in all his work, it invites contact. Bram lived and worked in Curaçao (@Instituto Buena Bista) until the end of August 2018. In 2018 and 2019 his work was exhibited at The Curacao Center of Contemporary Art (Esmeralda), BigArt Bijlmer, House for Sale in Apeldoorn, NEUS in Nijmegen and Kunstenfestival Watou in Belgium.Currently Bram is working on Robots in Captivity, of which one installation could be viewed in het HEM (Jan-May 2020) while the whole kennel is on display @Buitenplaats Doornburgh in 2021. Chama is a game-changing start-up with a major financial backing. The concept: an innovative app that is like ‘Uber-for-home-gas-delivery.’ The mobile and dealer app will disrupt the gas-delivery market in South America, Africa and Asia.Since its launch late 2016 the company grew rapidly into the leading online platform to order gas, reaching the 1mln download milestone early this year. The team has grown to 100fte in Amsterdam and Sao Paolo, while the latest solid funding round secured the means for aggressive growth in 2018 and beyond.

OLX is the leading classifieds in emerging markets with over 200mln monthly visitors. As COO I was responsible for operations and product, located in Buenos Aires. Next to that I was managing the portfolio of the businesses in our key countries; India, Brasil and South Africa.As Business Improvement Leader I worked on opportunities that were innovative game changers for the Naspers Classifieds group (i.e. OLX, Dubizzle).With my team we identify two key opportunities; 1. Managing the customer lifecycle with the help of big data. In 12 months time I set-up a team of 15 people that radically changed the quality and quantity (over 4000 terabyte) of customer data and insights, set-up professional customer interaction through push notifications and personalisation, and finally developed a state of the art recommendation and sort-order algorithm to drive customer- and business value.2. Develop the TV format True Traders with Talpa. The TV format had a goal to be more efficient marketing than regular TV campaigns and change habits of customers around trading second hand goods rather than one of behaviour. The results of our pilot in Portugal proved us right: not only was the format the best viewed format in its timeslot (thanks to the great creative team of Talpa), yet also the business impact has proven to be solid. Currently the format is rolled out across the globe by Talpa.

As a business developer at the leading classifieds platform in the Netherlands I got to know the fundamentals and nitty gritty details of e-commerce in Holland. I worked on tactical projects to increase short term revenue, yet also developed long term strategic products that still contribute to the healthy margin of Marktplaats.nlAs head of Chaos for eBay local classifieds I was working on strategy, innovation and monetization projects and as a general 'fixer' whenever a complex issue appears across the globe.For six months I managed and restructured the German business to clean up, reignite healthy growth and create a sustainable leading position in the German classifieds market.
