ThermoCeramix was a company that developed a process for depositing electrical heating elements with unique physical properties, such as durability and conduction. As a research engineer, I was responsible for characterizing the product and understanding the physics of the plasma-based process. I developed new systems to automate data collection and used statistical analysis to identify key relationships between manufacturing parameters and film quality.

My research was in the area of one dimensional systems, where strong electron-electron interactions conspire to create a remarkable new state of matter, applicable to quantum computing. In pursuit of measuring this elusive state, I performed measurements using low-noise electronics at cryogenic temperatures. I developed software in python to collect experimental data, present the results and compare measurements to theoretical predictions.
