These games were a great success and attracted over 2500 athletes from almost 40 countries. The 2nd European University Games will be very compact games, organised on and around Erasmus University campus. Erasmus University Rotterdam is a research oriented top university with international appeal. International study programs and research are ranked amongst the best in Europe and the world. Having the 2nd European Universities Games in Rotterdam in 2014 is a beautiful highlight in the academic year 2013-2014, in which the Erasmus University of Rotterdam celebrates its 100th anniversary.
