I took this chance to get into a leading position, which I really enjoy! I'm the team leader for 4 labs covering solid state characterization & development such as PSD, XRPD, Thermal methods and development of API crystallization/(pre-)formulation, with the team consisting of 13 people.In my day to day I take care of & work with topics such as:- Leading & Enabling the team to cover routine analytics & new validations- Budgetary aspects (such as footprint, available resources, equipment & investments)- Main contact for audits (& of course taking care of the audit prep & feedback!)- Drive innovation (portfolio expansion, implementation of new methods & monographs)Having familiarized myself with the role, I find that I enjoy the strategic side the most! Whether it is focusing on improving quality, reducing overhead, repositioning of the portfolio, or simply trying to surpass expectations, aiming for growth and evolution is what I enjoy driving forward! (Needless to say, that means I am not afraid of making decisions or taking on some risk)
