PMV is an investment company with >900m euro assets under management, investing in a wide range of sectors. The life sciences venture capital team consists of 2 FTE, with my responsibilities being:• Co-managing PMV’s direct investments in >15 biotech companies;• Co-managing PMV’s fund-of fund investments in Aescap Venture, Capricorn Health-Tech Fund and Vesalius Biocapital;• Representing PMV at the board of directors of Capricorn Health-Tech Fund, Cartagenia, Multiplicom and Q-Biologicals;• First point of contact at PMV for new life sciences investment opportunities;• Evaluation and prioritisation of all incoming life sciences dealflow;• Scientific, market, IP & financial due diligence, valuation, deal structuring and negotiation;

Cartagenia was acquired by Agilent Technologies in May 2015

KBC Private Equity was the investment vehicle of the Belgian bank KBC. KBC PE’s biotech franchise provided venture capital to European and US biotech companies. The franchise had a portfolio of 10 companies and was also managing the Euronext listed ‘Privak Biotech’ fund, with my responsibilities being:• First analysis and prioritisation of all incoming dealflow;• Support of investment director with initial investments in Biocartis and arGEN-X, IPO of Movetis (now Shire) and follow-up of portfolio companies;• Representing KBC PE at the board of directors of Baekeland Fund II (11m euro spin-off fund of Ghent University).

Deloitte Grants & Incentives was a division of 15 FTE providing consultancy services to clients on non-dilutive funding schemes, including the writing of grant applications on behalf of clients. The division was acquired by PNO Consultants in September 2008. I was responsible for obtaining technology funding for clients. My client portfolio included both multinationals and small companies, mainly in the life sciences and materials sectors.
