I am a practicing designer, entrepreneur, and educator. Upon completing my undergraduate studies at The University of Pittsburgh I was hired as a Visual Communication Designer on Nationwide's Usability and Design Team. After seven years at Nationwide, I decided to attend The Ohio State University to pursue my Master of Fine Arts.I have taught at The Ohio State University and Columbus State Community College. I was a professor at Florida A&M University's School of Journalism and Graphic Communication for five years. I then helped develop the online undergrad and graduate program at Digital Media Arts College in Boca Raton, FL. I am currently an Associate Professor at Lynn University.I have an entrepreneurial spirit and have launched small businesses such as The UrbanStarr, Starr360, Athlete Shirts, and my most recent company, PlaylistParty. I lend my creative expertise as a consultant for established companies like Flat Out of Heels (flatoutofheels.com) and start ups like ERinfo (ERinfo.me). I also always find time to help individuals and groups solve problems creatively using design thinking principles.
