Evaluates and analyzes all loan packages including credit and collateral documentation to ensure investment quality loan product and seek feedback from appraisal department on any questionable collateral. In partnership with loan originators, works to assist in structuring loans to ensure salability of package. Checks accuracy of all calculations and analyzes income utilizing personal and/or corporate tax returns of all borrowers. Consults with processing and funding department(s) to ensure all underwriting conditions are met prior to loan closing. Assists with curing deficiencies in loan files as a result of failure to meet investor, FHA, VA, repurchase guidelines. Analyze required loan documentation and information presented in the mortgage loan request to condition and make appropriate loan decisions based on the acceptability of the credit risk using established guidelines of HPF, secondary market investors, and applicable government and state regulations. Analyze loan documentation such as income, assets, credit criteria, title, homeowners and flood insurance. Analyze self employment income and assets.
