As a Master of Science (MSc) candidate at Wilfrid Laurier University I have had the opportunity to further my education and advance my passion for academia. This experience encompasses a wide variety of task and jobs. On top of studying, current roles involve acting as a research assistant for a small research group studying Arctic hydrological system. Responsibilities associated with this position include conducting and organizing intensive field data collections, analyzing field data and presenting results in an academic setting. This position also encompasses the role of a Teaching Assistant for multiple senior-level physical geography courses. responsibilities of this position entail organizing and structuring lab sessions, student assignment grading, communication and private mentoring of students, and assisting the primary instructor with university-level course work.

During this period I held an NSERC Undergraduate Student Research Assistant (USRA) position through Wilfrid Laurier University. My responsibilities for this position include conducting primary research for a multi-year research project focusing on the hydrological systems of a large Arctic watershed located in Inuvik, N.W.T. Tasks for this position incorporated a wide variety of specialized skillsets including constructing a semi-permanent field camp in a remote tundra setting, installing, programming and obtaining field data from atmospheric monitoring instruments, monitoring ground and surface temperatures for studying active-layer dynamics, operating and testing experimental applications of U.A.S (unmanned aerial systems or "drones") for hydrological research, climate data analysis, and synthesis of research for academic presentation.
