I lead and oversee a range of responsibilities related to affordable course materials and open educational resources (OER) initiatives, providing leadership and guidance in the development and management of programs aimed at making education more accessible and affordable to our students. This includes: --Inspiring and recruiting faculty to create, adopt, and assess OER for the benefit of students--Coordinating initiatives to help faculty seamlessly integrate library resources and OER into their curricula--Raising awareness about the value of OER across our campus, fostering broad participation from various departments, faculty members, and students--Collaborating closely with the college community, aiming to ensure that OER becomes an integral part of our educational landscape. --Providing professional development resources and training on trends, standards, and best practices through multiple platforms, catering to diverse audiences. --Overseeing events and activities that promote open education --Delivering web-based and on-site training to departmental staff, library personnel, and other stakeholders regarding support processes for open education initiativesIn addition to these efforts, I play a critical role in shaping and implementing policies related to copyright, open licensing, and the attribution of Creative Commons licensed materials. This involves working closely with academic deans, faculty, and library staff to support projects associated with open education.
