I spent the first chapter of my career serving the Missouri Department of Transportation. Serving MoDOT as a construction inspector, I worked on asphalt and overpass/intersection projects. After two years of department work, I took a job with Emery Sapp and Sons out of Columbia, Missouri. I joined ESS as a stringless paving technician, spending a year and a half learning stringless paving techniques and technology. Since joining ESS I have moved on to Surveying. I manage surveying all current private sector projects and share the DOT projects out of our new Springdale, Arkansas office. Surveying includes localizing to sites, topoing (droning if needed), tie-ins, layout of utilities, curb, setting up stringless paving operations, and servicing machine control.
