That includes administrative matters, the operational readiness of the department, and the general condition of equipment. As Divo: I carry out command policies and personally see that my division tasks are completed in a timely manner. As DLCPO: I serve a dual role as both a technical expert and as a first line leader, with the emphasis being more on leadership. A recognized collateral duty for all Chiefs and one I take particular pride in is the operational and leadership training of newly-commissioned junior officers, technicians and entry-level Sailors.
