My responsibilities include:* Work with designers and engineers to recognize design issues and design improvements in 3D models and drawings prior to release for manufacturing.* Identify and solve fit-up and assembly issues during prototype and production building through design changes and/or rework.* Control design changes and production release of changes to improve product reliability and minimize stranded material in inventory.* Determine build sequence and shape assembly line for lean production, including floor layout drawings and capital equipment purchasing.*Create and maintain procedural assembly drawings and instructions for use on the production floor.*Manage supplier quality and work with quality assurance personnel to determine the acceptability of parts and determine follow actions (cause and corrective action).*Work with Buyers and Planners to ensure parts are delivered to meet needs and create alternative sourcing plans if required.*Document and control unplanned production deviations.Specific Achievements:*Manufacturing Engineering lead for the successful launch of Plug Power’s highest volume production line, including significant cost down initiatives to several products purchased by customers such as Amazon and Walmart.*Redesigned multiple production lines to meet increasing demands and improve product quality for the record selling third quarter of 2018. - redesigned the air cooled Class 3 GenDrive production line (highest volume production line at Plug Power)-redesigned the lithium ion battery production line-redesigned the PCB electronics lab.

Cognizant Engineer of equipment through entire life cycle (initial design, final design, procurement, manufacturing, delivery, procedure development, field support and eventual disposal). Specifically, assisted in design with respect to manufacturability and operation, developed project plans for procurement (quantity of buy, cost estimating, logistics, etc.), manage fabricating vendors, ensure on-time delivery to end user, develop detailed procedures, request approval from customers via formal documentation, assist in trouble shooting at end-user and maintain configuration control of equipment.Additional responsibilities include solid modeling with Creo Elements (formally ProEngineer) software as well as drawing development for fabrication. Responsible for stress calculations and alignment and tolerance studies for equipment as well as design assurance for equipment designs provided by other agencies.
