About Brandon J. Watkins, M.Ed.

As an Instructor of Education Foundation at the University of South Carolina Upstate, I am dedicated to shaping the future of education by preparing aspiring educators with the foundational knowledge and skills they need to succeed. Currently, I am pursuing a Ph.D. in Curriculum & Instruction with a focus on Urban Literacy Education, which further enhances my expertise and commitment to educational excellence.Previously, as an Instructional Coach at Cherokee County School District, I facilitated professional development for teachers, fostering positive relationships with educators and administrators. My expertise in research-based instructional practices contributed to increased student performance and improved classroom environments.With over ten years of experience in the field of education, I have served as the co-chair of the district's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Strategic Plan Development Team, creating instructional resources and projects that address the diverse needs and backgrounds of students. I have also engaged in continuous professional development and utilized various curriculum software and data analysis tools to assess learning outcomes.I am passionate about enhancing the quality of education and empowering both teachers and students to reach their full potential.
