The reason I feel this way is because I'm here only by the grace of God. Many times during my life, things could have turned out very differently. Being raised in a less opportune environment, failing to finish High School, entering the Army shortly after 9/11, and being deployed over seven times, the opportunity for disaster was present, but God had other plans. During my time in the military, I've learned three languages and attained my Associate, Baccalaureate, and Master's degree, and traveled to countless places gaining a deeper understanding of other cultures and lifestyles. I've been through a lot and feel fortunate to be where I am today.Everyone has the potential to rise to higher levels but to be successful in this endeavor, you need a team. I like to say, "If you want to go fast, go alone; if you want to go far, go as a TEAM." I'm very fortunate to have had some great leaders, friends, family, and co-workers that helped me along the way. However, the horrible supervisors, frenemies, and those with ill intentions for my life also helped me tremendously in what not to do or how to act if given the responsibility of leading others. I am committed to making the world a better place and consistently look for opportunities to enhance the lives of others one interaction at a time.Finally, I am always eager to learn new things and focused on improving processes and outcomes no matter how minimal the yield is. Small gains over time are better than none at all. I approach life with the ideals of Stephen Covey's 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, James Collins's Good to Great, and L. David Marquets Leadership is Language.
