-Design Engineering Department for Industrial division products – fabricated and cast, machined assemblies supplied to OEM diesel manufacturers. -Created and maintained engineering models and drawings with Pro/ENGINEER. Applied Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing per customer requirements and manufacturing processes. Responsible for reviewing and approving engineering change requests and deviated/non-conforming material.-Developed design of new components given constraints of form, fit, and function as defined by customer. Reverse-engineered parts supplied by new customers. Process and material tolerances were applied to tolerance analysis tools to properly size gaps and component fitment.-Analyzed solidification modeling to improve existing casting designs. Verified process changes and corrective actions with solidification and pouring simulations. Modified casting geometry, tooling, and process parameters based on cooling patterns and predicted shrinkage porosity.-Organized and led internal design reviews for three design phases: design/concept, prototype, and pre-production. Participated in weekly external design reviews and lead discussions concerning engineering drawings and design change requests. Internal design reviews included APQP and PPAP quality planning.-Project Management – led and managed other’s tasks through Microsoft Project. Delegate responsibilities to appropriate departments and maintain/follow-up between design reviews.-Six-Sigma Project – participated in company-defined project for green belt training. Project Charter focused on improving the effectiveness of quality inspections and planning.
