About Brandon Long
I have always had a passion for solving problems, analyzing data, and learning new things. In my previous career as a Civil Engineer, I would use data I gathered while trudging through sewers and wastewater treatment plants to perform data analysis and develop computational models. I loved sifting through the data to find interesting patterns and I was always excited when my company secured a new project that required computational modeling. I even became the go-to person in my region for developing hydraulic models.As I learned the limitations of building out my computational models in Excel, I found myself wanting to improve my tools but didn’t have the programming know-how. That’s when my journey into software development began. As I learned to write my first for-loop, my first recursive function, and my first working program, I knew there was no turning back. I am eager and excited to continue growing in my software developer role and am looking forward to working with a team passionate about development.
