About Brandon Macpherson
I attended Fleming college where I took the Parks and Recreation Technician program and also the Urban Forestry program. I worked for two separate arboriculture companies after college, Ontario Line Clearing and Asplundh. I would prune or remove trees in the GTA using a bucket truck or climbing them using different climbing techniques and different rope knots. I would use a variety of chainsaws, pruners, ladders, wood chippers and bucket trucks. I also traveled to the United States two times for hurricane relief work to remove trees off power lines. In 2012 I started my telecomunication career at Canadian Network Installations as a tower rigger. I installed communication equipment(antennas, microwaves, radios, different cables like fiber, CAT 5/6, DC power and RF) on cell towers and rooftops all over Ontario and in the Caribbean. I was a part of many inbuild sites which involved pulling cables in a variety of different ceiling types and properly securing lines to ceilings and walls and repairing drywall or installing hatches when needed. I am trained on Anritsu site master and also trained to test PIM. In 2018 I left Canadian Network Installations to work for DistinctTech as a Wireless Foreman doing similar rooftop and inbuild work. While at DistinctTech, I received even more training and experience in the telecom industry.

CNI is contracted out by major wireless service providers to test and install equipment needed for cell phone service. As a Crew Lead / Rigger at CNI I would I work at heights on communication towers (up to 450 feet) and roof tops. I also install telecommunication equipment inside buildings such as hospitals hotels, malls, office towers etc. My rigging crew and were are responsible for running/terminating cables (coaxial, fiber, power/grounding, cat5/6 ect.) fabricating steel, installing a variety of communication equipment. Typical equipment we install include microwave dishes, antennas, steel mounts, tower reinforcements, radio packs and more. I am trained to preform variety of different tests including Anritsu Site master (VSWR, Return Loss, DTF ect) / PIM/ OTDR as well as submit documents/close out packages to the customer. I am required to use a large variety of hand tools and power tools, generators, scissor lifts and genie lifts and trained for a variety of different aerial rescues.

Power line tree pruning around 4kv-44kv power lines. I would climb trees using ropes and proper arborist knots, rigging, chain sawing, tree pruning, tree removal, spurring trees, chipping brush, operating a bucket truck. I am trained for aerial rescue and bucket evacuation. I would identify tree species, diseases and insects every day. I would also travel out of the country for hurricane and storm relief.
