Mid-career military professional (i.e. Major). Initial jobs, prior to graduate school, included being a certified forecaster, zone supervisor, lead CONUS weather analyst, at an Operational Weather Squadron. This was followed by a short overseas tour, where weather forecasts were tailored for mission aircrews, airfield services, and key base personnel and agencies (i.e. POTUS support) throughout INDOPACOM. Additionally, an executive officer tour was conducted to better understand senior leader perspectives. After this tour, my focus shifted to Space Weather, where I completed a Masters of Science degree focusing on data assimilation of simulated ionospheric irregularities. This re-direct also allowed for coordination of space weather modeling efforts, supporting operations. This effort was disrupted with a deployment to CENTCOM, where I mimicked support provided in INDOPACOM. Upon return from my deployment, I sat in a Flight Commander position, where as a certified Scrum Master, I coached several teams through a transition from standard a military/waterfall software development cycle (weather ops, Visual Weather, OGC, etc.), to Agile DevSecOps. Success in this endeavor opened up another graduate school opportunity, where another Masters of Science was achieved in Atmospheric Science, where research in terrain driven winds were examined. This ultimately resulted in my current position in Air Staff directing policy for the Air Force weather community.
