Transmission Substation Design - Career Engineer
CurrentCareer Engineer (Engineer 3) in the Transmission Substation Design group for 345kV, 161kV, & 138kV substations. Engineering Lead within the Transmission Group that works with Protection, Communication, Transmission Line, Civil, internal Drafting, and Engineering Consultants on planned or unplanned emergency projects to design, procure materials, and ensure in-service deadlines. Direct contact with construction & protection Ameren crews or contractors, to ensure plans are carried out correctly on-time, and on budget. Leading design for full new green field substations, up to 6-position ring buses, breaker & a half, or even vertical straight bus designs. Also, leading design for brown field (existing) substations upgrades & expansions. Experience with EHV transformers, shunt reactors, control enclosures, SSVTs, etc. Design responsibilities: initial layout, project estimate, work orders & PCRs, cash flows, schedule creation & coordination, material requisition, project constructability review, voltage calcs, lightning strike & ground grid analysis, outage request/coordination, mark-up/review/approve drawings, help review & discuss new equipment possibilities for substation improvements.Consultant Liaison to coordinate workload, quality, update on standards & processes, and handle any questions/problems.Control Cable subject matter expert for Transmission Sub Design, and standard holder.
